PINECREST BOARD OF DIRECTORS:Earlier this week, a presentation was held at the Buckwalter RecreationalCenter by the Pinecrest golf course Representative, SVN, who is thecommercial real estate advisor. Many of you were able to attend andparticipate in the golf course’s presentation regarding its plans for potentialdevelopment. The golf course’s agreement with the Pinecrest POA is set toexpire in September 2025, as written and recorded in Pinecrest’s Declarationof Covenants, Restrictions, and Easements Document. The potential plan showed multi-family structures that would house (360)total units where the current driving range is located. It consisted ofupgrading the existing golf course clubhouse which would include a virtualdriving range. The redevelopment will involve modifying four golf courseholes (1, 7, 8 & 9), creating a 70-par course. This has not been formallypresented to the Town of Bluffton yet for approval and is simply apreliminary starting point. We are sharing these facts that were presented that night for anyone unableto attend so everyone is informed as a whole. The consensus heard at thisgathering was clear, that the majority of the community is against theredevelopment of the Pinecrest golf course in any form.To clarify a few falsities fluttering throughout the community, no vote wasever made amongst the Board for redevelopment. The Board wants what isbest for the community and we are all in this together and on the same page. We, as a Board, welcome everyone’s feedback and look forward to workingtogether in an effective and unified way to prevent this from happening. The location of the next Board meeting, to be held February 19th @ 5:00 pm,is going to be changed to a larger venue due to the considerable amount ofresidents voicing that they will be in attendance at the upcoming meeting.Once a larger venue has been secured, with ample parking, a notice via eblastwill be sent out to everyone.
